It is with much regret that we are forced to announce the closing of Scarff Auto Center. There are a number of factors that have weighed into this decision.
First and foremost, the loss of our GM franchise and not being able to secure another new vehicle franchise.
Second, the major change in bank attitudes regarding the automobile business as far as getting customers financed and flooring lines for the dealers.
Third, trying to weather this economic downturn has exhausted our working capital, even with our reduced size.
We have decided to have a final liquidation sale and then close the business on or about December 5th.
This path has proven necessary despite the efforts of so many dedicated and talented employees. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of everyone by pulling together and continuing to work hard as we have tried every effort to work through this.
